One Month…

It’s been one month since our Move-In Day

Still can’t believe I’m here now to stay

5 weeks since ISMP

Met people from Japan, Zimbabwe, and Greece

It’s been 3 weeks since the OA trip…

I was planning to go a lot further than that but I’m all out of lyrics. (Can you tell that I’m really excited for the Middle School Dance?) Anyway, the point was, where has time gone? I can’t decide whether I feel like it’s gone by quickly or slowly. One day, it feels like I’ve been here forever and OA was years ago, and the next, I am reminded of what a freshman I am and that it’s really only been one month. It’s officially the longest I have been away from my family, and I’m not homesick at all yet. (Though Skype is no doubt helping with that.)

Slowly, Pomona is really starting to feel like home. It’s a bit less daunting to go to the dining hall because it’s highly likely I’ll bump into at least one person I know (although whether they recognise me is sometimes doubtful). I can get to all my classes without getting lost, as well as most of the other buildings on campus, even if I do have the campus map saved on my phone in case of emergency. I’ve started meeting people outside of the Pomona freshman class. I’ve successfully made my way to the post office and back (with only one wrong turn).

But now, I’ve got to go study, because I really want to be able to go and enjoy some ’90s bubblegum pop on Saturday without this paper hanging over my head.
