HvZ

This morning marked the start of another round of Humans vs. Zombies. I, like many other freshmen (we make up over half of the game), could be found ducking and dodging around campus trying to avoid confrontation. For anyone who doesn’t know about HvZ, it is a simulation of a zombie apocalypse, complete with nerf guns (or socks), missions, and zombies which increase in number and strength. The game involves nearly 600 players, over 100 of whom have succumbed to the infection as of tonight.

Although I found myself fairly paranoid all day, the game is so much fun. The highlight of day one was probably forming a convoy with two classmates from my ID1 to get back to our dorms. We repeatedly alternated between serious survival mode and laughing at how ridiculous we looked trying to jump from safe zone to safe zone. It wasn’t quite as fun trying to get to ultimate practice on my own allll the way at Scripps that afternoon, but I made it. The sense of camaraderie between the humans is pretty cool to experience; I hope I’m still alive for tomorrow night’s mission!
