A Study in Mania: Essay-Writing and the Need to Sleep

It is 8:00 a.m. The sun has risen, and the birds have begun chirping. I think the morning has come—or is it night—there comes a time that you wonder if it’s late, or if it’s early. I ask myself: Do I tell myself “good night,” or “good morning”?

Really, it must be relative. Earlier times I have been up at this hour, ventured out of my room and away from my computer and essays, and happened to run into a spibling in the bathroom, brushing his or her teeth. “Good morning,” he or she says to me.

I realize people are waking up from their peaceful slumber.

Now that large exams and papers are coming and going, I think I’ve become nocturnal. Is this one of the 47 things to do before I leave Pomona?

Really, maybe it is different for me: I’ve one final, but I’ve three papers and a presentation.

At any rate, the end is almost here. I can taste it. There is a light at the end of this tunnel. My presentation was A-minus worthy; I’ve submitted two papers; there is but one more to do, and it is the dreaded research assignment on “Natasha and Art” in War and Peace viewed through the lens text What Is Art? by Leo Tolstoy.

A Study in Mania: Have I become nocturnal?

Anyway, you all must see my A-minus-worthy presentation’s PowerPoint and HandOut. This is an example of the freshman experience at Pomona—ID1.

My HandOut: Presentation for WP

“A Study in Mania” is an idea of Evan, the ridiculous CS kid. I do not own the “A Study in Mania” idea.
