Moving On In 2012: Pros and Cons of North Campus

Well, I’m finally here. After two years being confined to the wonderful Mudd 2 hallway (thanks for that, deferred housing), I finally made my way up to North Campus.  I guess I shouldn’t complain that much, considering most sophomores do not get to experience the privilege of North Campus, but it’s good to be here nonetheless.  Although my room is mostly boxes and piles of things I need to find a place for right now, I’ve still managed to notice a few things that are awesome and slightly less than awesome about living on North Campus.  I guess I wouldn’t call them pros and cons, but here we go. Awesome: ReCoop closes at 5. I realize I don’t have a mattress pad at 4:57. I am able to run over to Walker Lounge in 30 seconds and pick one of the last pads up. Not so awesome: The blaring Top 40 hits from Frosh Aid is not something I want to hear. Awesome: Frosh Aid is downstairs, free food and plenty of lemonade is just steps away. Not so awesome: I don’t deal well with heat (why I go to school in Southern California I don’t know). Mudd had A/C. Clark III does not. Commence enough fans blowing to cause a Category 4 hurricane. Super awesome: Snack. That’s just about everything I’ve been able to notice in my 6 hours living up North. Checking out from Norton-Clark, peace and blessings.
