Operation Futon

Since my room is quite big this year, I realized I needed some additional furniture to fill it up.  Luckily, my cousin is studying abroad in Israel this year so he had a futon just hanging out in my aunt and uncle’s garage that was all mine for the taking.  The only problem was getting it here to Pomona…

This past weekend was pretty crazy for me, what with a cappella auditions on Saturday and Sunday, but me going home on Saturday night for a show, and then going home again Sunday evening through Tuesday to be with my family for Rosh Hashanah.  However, I decided to capitalize on the craziness and driving back and forth and use this opportunity to bring over the elusive futon in my uncle’s truck.  Hence, Operation Futon, which basically consisted of me gathering a crew of people on Sunday morning to help me move the thing in pieces from the truck to my room—which is, of course, upstairs.

Once we got it into the room and assembled it all, we realized that it didn’t quite really fit in my room (big as it is).  But with some clever suggestions and maneuvering, it is now quite happily situated at one end of my room.  Hopefully I just won’t need to access my closet all that much.

So there you have it.  I know, I know, “senior problems”—jeez, my huge futon is too big for my already huge room!  But it was quite the adventure.  I only wish I had some pictures of me driving the giant truck or all four of us carrying futon cushion and frame pieces all over campus.
